Can you spot the difference? The cauliflower on the left was purchased at a grocery store for 3.00. It was harvested by underpaid farm workers in Salinas, CA. and already had browning/sour smell on DAY ONE of purchase. The cauliflower on the right? Bought from Farrah Farms for 5.00 over 2 WEEKS AGO! It’s still crisp, beautiful and ready to eat.
When you buy directly from local farmers, you’re getting produce that was harvested HOURS, not weeks, before you take it home. Locally grown food lasts longer, tastes better and reduces both waste and long distance transportation. See you from 9-1 this Saturday!
