Rose Marie Genovese Palo, 95, of East Haven, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Alphonse Palo.

Born in New Haven on May 29, 1930, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late James and Mary Barone Genovese.

A talented hairstylist for over sixty years, Rose Marie owned and operated Rose Marie’s Coiffures for nearly three decades. Her salon was more than a place of business—it was a hub of laughter, friendship, and lasting connections with the many women who walked through its doors.

Outside of the salon, Rose Marie was full of life and creativity. She loved roller-skating and was known for whipping up delicious and inventive meals from whatever she had on hand. Her kitchen was always open, and no one ever left her home hungry or without feeling welcome.

She was a loving and devoted mother to Susan (Carmine) Liguori, Louis (Maria) Palo, Marie (the late Michael) Kelly, Linda Palo, and Ed Palo. Rose Marie cherished time spent with her six grandchildren—Gina Liguori, Daniel (Renee) Liguori, Alphonse (Jennifer) Palo, Diana Palo, Michael Palo, and Alanna Kelly—and her three great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Liguori, Aviana Palo, and Giuliana Palo. She is also survived by her brother, Anthony (Celia) Genovese.
