Pastured pork for sale. Born and raised on pasture at our farm. Never had wormer, vaccines or antibiotics. Pigs are about 3 months old and 50 to 60 lbs right now. Will raise them up to about 225 lbs over next 4 or 5 months. Pre order yours now if interested. Half and whole hogs available. $2.25/lb of hanging weight plus processing. We will take to local Butcher and you'll pick up from there. Hanging weight estimated at 150 lbs. Or if you're interested in a gilt to breed we'll sell you one

We have updated our website (www.tangledtreefarms.com) with prices and ordering information for lamb and goat meat. As seen on the site, we are offering several options for purchasing lamb and goat meat, including: buying live goats and lambs direct off-the-farm (with on-farm butchering offered); buying whole kids or lambs packaged and cut picked up from a local processing plant; buying whole & half kids packaged and cut picked up from a central delivery point in Joplin or from the farm; and buying individual cuts picked up from a central delivery point or from the farm. Deliveries to a central pick up point in Joplin are pending adequate order volume. If you know of anyone that might be interested in lamb or goat meat, please pass along this information!

How To: Dog self feeder. This is General eating out of his self feeder. Using the self feeder allows the dogs to stay out un-tended with the goats and lambs for days at a time, eating whenever they can get a break. These dogs are up most of the night every night dealing with coyotes and other predators. They pretty much laze around during the day trying to get a few hours of sleep here and there. Good job, General!

New Year's Lambs! Born just before Christmas. If they've made it to the new year, I figure they'll make it to weaning, right? Right. Happy New Year!

Pondmill! Sometimes we like to share some about how we do some of the things we do around the farm. This is a pondmill. The wind turns the sliver baffles, which turns a blade at the bottom of the pondmill, which keeps the water moving, which keeps it from freezing, so the livestock have something to drink when it's freezing outside (and I don't have to go break ice everyday on a leased farm that is several miles away). I just put this pondmill in today. A smarter man would have put it in before the pond froze, because in order to put it in today, I had to break up the ice where the pondmill went in first, and get the ice out of the water so it wouldn't jam up the mill, which required wading out into the freezing water while it was 19 degrees outside. Maybe next time!

Here's Josie wriggling around wanting petting! She's a great girl. No goats or sheep have been killed by coyotes since her arrival. She's oing her job and liking doing it!
