New addition to the menagerie! A wonderfully kind German Shorthair Pointer/Weimaraner cross needed a home This girl just turned 1 y/o and is named Winchester/“Winnie”. More picture will follow as we continue to get to know one another and fully integrate her into our family and farm.

Facebook Friends,

We will not be attending the Winter Farmer's Market in Fairfield this Saturday December 13th, 2025. There is snow on the horizon and we will be taking advantage of that weather to process rabbits from our rabbitry here on the farm. We hope to see all of you again at future markets.

Stay tuned for any for updates!

Snow day! We’re rearranging the bar and hangout space to be less of a bar and more functional for watching movies and entertaining.

We stopped to make coffee and relax for a minute and all the animals came to hang out with us.

Chilly start to the morning! Thought there was a dusting of snow, but alas just a hoarfrost.

The wood boiler is burning now and shop is keeping above freezing. Hopefully I can keep it fed and we can keep toasty when working in the shop!

This and this happened today…

Firewood, we’re happy to get some firewood done. Lots still to do. We’re about 1/4 the way through the semi-load of walnut logs that was dropped off earier in the summer.

Axe…It was my favorite little foresters axe and I was using as a pickaroon/log hauler when I know I shouldn’t have been. They make a tool for that. I just don’t have one yet. It’s now on order.

One side of a log was fantastically solid, but the other was squishy and hollow. I struck the hollow side assuming it was solid. Snapped it like a toothpick.

Now I need two new axe handles. Loose head on my backup foresters axe and a snapped Hults Bruks handle, too. To the internet we go…!

The goats are getting their dry lot built for this winter. Our girls are currently mingling with the fellas and we expect fresh goat milk next spring. But first….winter accommodations need to be made for our goat friends once the fresh pasture is too covered with snow.

Garlic! ALL the garlic! Ok, ok… not as many as some, but well over 100 in the ground is greater than what we had last year. These aren’t destined for the market, but rather our kitchen!
