šŸšØ 2026 Honey is Here šŸšØ

Fresh from the hive and ready for you at the Owatonna Farmers Market is our 2026 honey crop. Stop out this morning to grab some!

We also have the return of the fan-favorite Maple-Glazed Apple Crumble Muffins. (The glaze alone is worth a trip down to the park).

No big loaves or flavored loaves this week, but we do have sandwich bread.

We will be here until noon!

We will have our new crop fresh from the hive honey available tomorrow at the Owatonna farmers market. We will also have our usual sourdough, honey sweetened jams, syrup and maple sugar. Check out our post in the morning from the market to see everything that we have. Come on down and say hi!

It's grape harvest day! šŸ‡ Our Bluebell grapes are ready to be collected and turned into our Uff Da grape jelly.

A little more about Bluebell grapes - the variety (similar to a Concord grape) was developed by the University of Minnesota in 1944 to withstand MN temps of -30Ā° to -50Ā°F. They're excellent as a table grape for fresh eating or making into grape juice and jelly.

The weather is shaping up to be a perfect evening for the Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm "Stroll" event tonight. We are looking forward to being at the Pizza Farm from 5-8pm tonight with a wide assortment of our favorite items. Sourdough Bread, our Honey-Sweetened Jam, Maple Syrup & Sugar, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Bagels.

Sourdough Flavors will be JalapeƱo Cheddar and Black Pepper Parmesan & Herbs. Let us know if we should set anything aside for you!

Here is the first bottle of 2026 honey! The picture is taken on the actual hive that this was harvested from. We have a limited supply for now as we only spun out 1 box. The box that we did harvest from had a number of frames that were not capped off yet, the bees still had work to do. They literally stand by each cell and fan their wings to get the honey to the correct moisture, then they cap the cell with wax.

Good morning! The weather isnā€™t looking favorable for the Owatonna Farmers Market tomorrow morning so unfortunately we will not be there butā€¦ šŸŒøI have so many beautiful flowers to make colorful bouquets! I would love to put together a šŸ’ bouquet for you and I will even deliver to the Owatonna, Waseca, Ellendale or New Richland area! Just message me with what youā€™re interested in and I will try my best to make it happen! Iā€™ve attached pictures of just a few of the flowers blooming in my garden.

We can also deliver some of our other Uff Da Acres goodies if available. Sourdough goodies will be available at the Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm tomorrow (Saturday) evening from 5-7:30 pm during their Stroll Event.

Here is another bee video. This one is prepping for harvesting the honey. I pulled all the honey supers off and put the lightest super on top of the brood box. There is not a honey flow coming in but I am trying this for this year. I am also trying the bee escape board which is sort of a one way hole. The theory is that the bees that are above the board will crawl through the one way hole and not be able to go back up into the full super. I really struggle with getting the bees off of the frames when we harvest. Trying something new. The 2 top boxes were very heavy! I am guessing around 50 pounds each.

The rain has stopped and weā€™re all set up at the Owatonna Farmers Market. We donā€™t have any sourdough this morning but we do have a couple of new thingsā€¦candied hot peppers and cute Uff Da onesies! Come on down and see what everyone has to offer today!
