We now have semi dwarf apple trees for sale at Chapman’s Orchard. They are primarily immune to disease or disease resistant. The available varieties are on our Chapman’s Orchard webpage
along with a description of each. The two varieties that are not disease resistant are Jonathan and golden delicious. They are included because those two varieties are able to pollinate themselves and any other apple tree. They are therefore an excellent pollinator. If interested, please call us at 607-334-3133.

With our Orchard closing at the end of the day this Thursday I’m sure many customers are looking for other orchards that allow you pick. I recommend Sweet Acres Orchard in Leonardsville. They have Cortland‘s, Empire’s and will soon have Northern Spy Apples.

 After looking through the Orchard this afternoon and seeing how few apples remain, I have decided we will close the Orchard this Thursday October 9 at 5 PM for the season. 
I’m sure it is disappointing to our customers that the Orchard is closing this early in the season, but there aren’t many apples remaining, they are small and many are blemished.

In addition to the Macoun  Apples being ready the Jonagold Apples are also ready this weekend. The Jonagold is a multipurpose apple good for fresh eating baking and sauce. It is one of my favorite apples.

I forgot to mention that we have baked goods at the Orchard today. We have pumpkin bread, apple, crisp, and applesauce made with Chapman’s Orchard apples.

The Zestar and Ginger Gold apples are almost completely picked. The McIntosh apples will be ready this Thursday, September 11th.
As a result we will be closed this Tuesday and Wednesday, opening again on Thursday.
