Finally some much needed rain!! Our trees were getting very dry. I’ve been putting in an irrigation pipe from the pond to the front of our property, 2000’ of 2” poly pipe rated at 200 psi. We’ve always used Paducah water before and only able to run parts at a time but now will be able to drip irrigate the entire farm at once without a huge water bill. Also the 2” pipe can support the hose reel water cannon so I can make it rain anywhere.
I rented a trencher for a few days and cut 2 to 3 ft down and the soil was still coming out dry so much obliged with this rain. Had four coils of pipe 500 ft long, 1/4” thick wall, weighing 500lbs a piece, very stiff but still bendable. Had to use the forks with the backhoe bucket and build a jig to support it. Had the whole fam helping to roll them out even with the backhoe pushing and supporting the weight. Abby and Meg were on the sides and Sam not pictured was in the front pulling the pipe down as it rolled around. Here’s a tip, buy them on the reel. Got it covered back up last night before the rain hit.
