We did sell out of Viola Francessa last week. Several cultivars are getting very low in inventory. Last weekend was our busiest yet and we enjoyed our visits with so many folks.

It was great seeing lots of familiar faces this weekend. It was fun meeting some new folks as well. Not seeing our loyal customers will be one of the things that we mis most in retirement. Only Copenhagen Gold sold out this weekend. We'll post the new varieties that we can get ready for sale for this coming weekend on Thursday, August 24. Bob finished digging garlic yesterday. We will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting July 18. Our hours will be 8 am to 5 pm. Please remember that we don't take credit or debit cards. Not all the different garlics will be available on the 18th as we are now busy cleaning and curing the bulbs. Silverskin garlics like Rose duVar and Sicilian Silver won't be ready on the 18th as silverskins were the last type of garlic that were dug.

Elaine has told Bob that the last post was not accurate. She doesn't put the source of the garlic on the slips as there isn't room. We have gotten most of our seed garlic from Filaree Garlic Farm, Allicins Ranch Garlic, Keene Organic Garlic, Snow Valley Garlic and Missing Link Garlic Farm. We have also used Burpees Seeds, Territorial Seed and FEDCO Seed. We can tell which one we used if you ask about a particular cultivar. Filaree Garlic Farm has the biggest selection of different garlics but doesn't carry everything we do. They do have many other cultivars that we haven't grown. Sorry for the inaccuracy. Bob should talk to Elaine more before posting.

Bob has been digging garlic. Several cultivars are crop failures and a lot of the bulbs (heads) so far have been smaller than last year. We think it is due to the incredibly dry winter we had. As soon as we get what he has dug cured and cleaned, we will post which cultivars are available.. We have decided that this year will be our last. We are going to really retire. Don't know that you'll be able to find all the different cultivars that we grow any where else in the valley. The slips in the bags when you buy garlic will have where we got our original garlic seed for that cultivar. If you are going to grow your own for next year, you should probably be ordering your seed garlic by the end of July. Certain cultivars from certain seed garlic sources sell out quickly. We'll try to help you if you want to grow your own.

Have been getting calls about when the garlic will be available. It is about two weeks behind where it normally is this time of year. Don't know if it is due to the extremely dry winter. We hope to have some garlic for sale in about two weeks. Not all 45 different cultivars will be available then as it takes Bob time to dig everything. He just doesn't move as fast as he once did. The first garlics out of the field will probably be soft necks. When cultivars are ready for sale, we'll post which ones we have ready. Hopefully you've saved the slips from your garlic bags so you know which ones are your favorites. If you haven't, we will try to help you the best that we can. Enjoy the lavender festival tomorrow and have a great 4th of July. Looking forward to seeing you come the middle of July.
