Thank you to my Mom and Dad, (Jim Lemon and Judy Lemon ) who spent their 56th wedding anniversary helping sort cows into breeding groups, and James Bailey for the help with the cow sorting/shuffling and all the chores after. The day went smoothly and it was the best kind of day riding Gibbs and working with our cows. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

GONE! Spring Park Melvin, registered dexter bull, looking for some ladies of his own! DOB 2/20/2024. A2/A2, pha and chondro negative, carries black and red, hetro polled. Has good feet and stands 42 to 43 inches tall at the shoulder. Is gentle, but not in your pocket or in your space kind of bull. Is thick and stout! Comes from great milk and beef lines. We are calving. Tonight I put some of the closest to calving girls in the barn....they get special treatment in the barn, special tastey hay and a plush bed of fresh deep straw; this helps encourage them to want to go in so I can easily get who I want and it's not a ordeal to get them to the barn. I just walk out and say "Let's go to the barn ladies!" They willingly go. Tonight after I put the 4 closest cows in, I walked out the door to more takers. It was like they were saying we're close too! Please let us in!! LOL (It's not like their life is bad outside of the barn, they have a shed, a bed of corn stocks and straw under the shed and they get good hay, they just think life is better in the barn!)

Tonight was special, my Dad rode Miles and pushed cows with me. It was wonderful to have Jim Lemon riding with me again, been a while since that has happened. The cows were hard to push and really did not want to move! If you weren't behind them pushing and hollering, they weren't walking. Even though we did not get them anywhere close to where we wanted, the moon was rising when we said it was far enough and we got home after dark, it was a good night! Love this lifestyle, and grateful to live it. And a HUGE thank you to Judy Lemon for driving the truck and trailer so we did not have to ride all the way home.
