We love memories of all kinds. This was shortly after we opened, but we enjoy looking back and remembering our supporters.

Garden Tip: Go for the burgers (absolutely fabulous), but while you're at Kelly Family Farms in Lucas take a look at the bermudagrass they have lining their gravel walk. It's common bermuda, but it's only 1/2-inch tall from all the pedestrian traffic! I doubt if it's ever been watered. You could putt on it. It's that dense.

Moral of this post: LETTING GRASS GROW TALL WEAKENS IT DRAMATICALLY. It does not "help it survive the summer."

The thickest, most attractive and weed-free turf will be grass that's kept at the recommended mowing height. For common bermuda, that's 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches.

I rest my case.
