First true harvest of the season goes to the lettuce!
There are a few different ways to harvest your lettuce! You can clip the outer leaves, cut it at the base, or if you are done with lettuce for the season you can just pull the whole thing out!
By trimming and cutting at the base you allow the plant to keep producing lettuce! Make sure to keep your lettuce trimmed and cut if you plan to keep it coming all season long, if not it will bolt which means it will flower and will no longer produce!

Garden cats are truly the best patrols! If you are having issues with moles/ voles in the garden I highly suggest a cat! They will keep you company and the garden protected! 🐱🚨

Don't rush!
I know I did last year! That was my first lesson in gardening you have to wait till the threat of frost is gone or you will be very sad when your plants die and you have to start all over! 😭

Gardeners if you planted early you will have to be ready for a hard freeze this weekend. The rule of thumb is to always wait until after Tax Day April 15th to plant.
