Today is the last day of the long weekend that we are open! Still have 1 dozen of eggs and 4 jars of apple butter!!

Been a very productive day!! Was able to get the grass cut, bird feeders all full, went to the county CO-OP for chicken feed and w**d killer, took care of the chickens pen and giving them fresh water and got some Halloween decorations up!! Now to actually sit here in the bearable weather that we have for now in Maryland and listen and pay attention to Mother Nature!!

The farm stand will be open at 8am today with 2 dozens fresh chicken eggs, veggies and Ahren’s secret recipe of HOMEMADE 🍎🍎APPLE BUTTER🍎🍎!!
We’re only making 6 jars for now to see how it all works out! If it sells like crazy then of course we will be making a lot more!! Sooooo it will be up to you guys, the customers!!
The jars of Apple Butter will be $6.00 a jar!
When you’re finished with the jar, IF YOU RETURN IT THEN WE WILL TAKE $1 OFF YOUR NEXT APPLE BUTTER JAR PURCHASE!! We are excited and hope you guys are too!!
We’re hoping to have another dozen of eggs by this afternoon, I think our ladies went on egg strike!

With the heat index at about 104° here, I constantly keep fresh, clean cold water in their waterer and little pool and also give them cold lettuce for a cool treat.. this lettuce will be gone before I make it back into the house.

Well, after a long summer I’ve finally taken some time off of work. I’m off until Tuesday. Time to get this place in good working order, get the Halloween decorations out and maybe try to relax in between!! As most of you know, the Mrs and I both work full time jobs while handling this homestead as well. She is in the medical field and I do HVAC/R. Both of which are very intense and needed fields!

Corinthians 15:58: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
