Seasonings and Rubs save time and money because you don't have to shop and pay for individual ingredients. Seasonings are for wet and rubs for dry. Use rubs for seasoning everything from meat to soup to chili to pasta. Look at them as another seasoning mix.

Rubs are for Fast Flavor because it adds flavor quickly. A rub can be more intense than a marinade and have LESS calories. It adds taste and texture - seals in juices and adds a crispy crust. Rub it on. Jab it all over with a fork. Let it sit for 5 minutes. You can put them on longer and the taste is more intense. But the one thing rubs cannot do is tenderize.
