Some of the most American foods are sweet corn and pies!
Pies are back in stock. This is a sprint, don’t run moment. They will be gone as fast as they came in.

Yes, it’s hot. And yes, you can still buy your mums.

The biggest thing to remember is that mums are thirsty, especially when they’re loaded with buds and sitting outside in warm weather. Their dense foliage and relatively small containers mean they can use up the available water quickly. Give them a good, deep soak and keep the soil consistently moist. Water at the base underneath the foliage and check them daily when temperatures are high. A little relief from the hottest afternoon sun can help too.

And buying them early actually has an advantage if you want to try keeping them around for next year.

Our mums are hardy mums, meaning they’re bred to tolerate colder temperatures and can be planted as perennials. Getting them into the ground earlier gives them more time to develop a strong root system before winter. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil and keep them consistently watered while those roots are getting established. Poor drainage and planting too late are two things that can make overwintering more difficult.

Once the blooms are finished, leave the old growth in place through winter and cut it back in the spring.

Then comes the trick for getting that big, round mum shape again next year. As new growth takes off in spring, periodically pinch back the growing tips through early summer. Pinching encourages the plant to branch instead of putting its energy into a few long stems. More branching means more growing tips and ultimately more places for those fall flowers to form.

So no, September isn’t too early for mums.

You just have to know what to do with them, and we can help with that. 😉

Reservations are officially open!

Reservations are first come, first served, and seating is limited. With each Farm to Table Dinner, reservation requests continue to grow, and we’re already receiving requests for this one. We recommend reserving early if you’d like to join us around the table.

The menu is currently being thoughtfully curated by our chef and will remain a surprise until the evening of the dinner. If you’ve joined us before, you know it never disappoints.
