The First Tabernacle Healthy Roots Program is a faith-based community garden located in the heart of South Philadelphia, adjacent to the Avenue of the Arts corridor. Our programming includes hands-on engagement, service learning opportunities and diverse health literacy workshops, which supports our goal to train South Philadelphia residents in becoming food justice advocates and supporters. These

services will empower the community to take action, in order to bring about local change in their own backyards. Overall, these efforts will support initiatives to increase food access outlets and resources in the community.
