I haven’t been all that active lately and for reasons I just can’t get past. I would rather never make another batch if the quality isn’t what it should be and what my customers have learned to expect from me. On a personal shopping trip to my neighborhood Fry’s this morning, I had the following experience.
Really? 🤢 Employee left a flat cart full of ground beef sitting directly next to a box of spoiled shrimp and chicken sitting in the meat department unrefrigerated for 20 minutes. I was patiently waiting for them to restock the cuts they had advertised this week. They had nothing cut and in the case. When he returned, I called him out on it. His answer was very arrogant and offered to show me a thermometer. In the meantime, I spoke w/ the manager. She made him pull that pack of steaks. He started to argue they were fine and she said “I don’t care, they don’t look good”. Then, I watched him stick the ground beef from the cart in the case and not rotate product. That’s when I walked out. Do better . As consumers in this economy, we should demand better, especially since the grocery industry is being monopolized by a few large corporations and suppliers in this country. We are being gouged by them and the meat packing houses like and . Hell , they’re gouging the very grocers who sell their products. For the sake of being long-winded I won’t go into detail on that. Anyway, I took my business to a local carniceria and paid $2 more per lb for meat that most likely came from a similar supplier but, felt ok keeping my money local by supporting a small and minority owned business in my neighborhood.
