We had a camp out with the boys for Willie’s 15th birthday. I’m so grateful for family and dear friends that invest in Willie. We all had a wonderful time setting up camp, building shelters, cooking over a campfire, squirrel hunting and just having a good time together.

My girls kept the chores going with as little of Willie’s help as they could, and Anna prepped all the food for us guys to enjoy while over the fire.

We’re looking forward to sending out the Marietta orders in the morning, and don’t forget Sack Lunch Saturday is November 7th!

We spent a little time in the garden yesterday. We’ve gotten behind and it was kind of a mess, but a little mowing and tilling started to set it right again. The big project was digging peanuts! These were just to try for the kids, and they did really well!

We’ve left them curing in the sun for a few days and hope to shell, roast and try to make some peanut butter! The kids are excited.

We sure enjoyed winding down last Saturday on our friend’s horses. They’re such good old boys, and it’s been a fun, new way to see the farm from the back of such an amazing creature.

We’re excited to be hosting another Sack Lunch Saturday! We enjoy the fellowship and sharing about what we get to do here at My Dad & Me. If you’re curious there’s an event post on our page, so check it out!

Wednesday is catch-up day with the milk. After Tuesdays co-op delivery we go into bottling for the Farm Store, stocking up on fresh yogurt, and drinks if need be.

We’re 100% Grass, organically fed, A2A2 Jersey dairy selling fresh milk and a store full of other goodies, right here in Ball Play, Alabama.

The next Sack Lunch Saturday at My Dad & Me Family Farm will be November 7th at 11:00am. There is no charge, but please RSVP to let us know if you’re coming.

Everyone will have a chance to milk a cow, make butter and try it on homemade bread, see the farm and we’ll all share a meal together. Everyone who attends will also receive 10% off in our Farm Store, and we’ll have a drawing as well for a few prizes!

We’ve had a great time with customers, neighbors and friends, so no matter who you are, we’d love to share with you a little of what we do here at My Dad & Me.

Remember Blueberry? I caught her just enjoying her legs one afternoon. There’s nothing sweeter than Jersey heifer zoomies!

I am loving the weather change; I hope all of you are too! Saturday was a wonderful time with all of you that showed up for Sack Lunch Saturday. We’re considering another one the first Saturday in November; drop us a comment if you’re interested!

After morning chores that center around getting ready for tomorrow’s Drop Points around Birmingham, I’ll probably be cleaning up brush with Clementine and a big grapple.

We’re so grateful to everyone that made it to the farm today! We all had such a nice time milking, making butter, and visiting together.

In a world of AI everything, sharing a little about what we do at My Dad & Me over a meal with folks seems like a better way forward than trying to win some artificial intelligence race.

We’re grateful the Lord provided such wonderful, cool weather and sunshine to boot.

This was Fuji’s first time in the parlor after delivering her late bull calf. Ellie has such a way about her with animals, especially with Jersey heifers. They can be a handful, but Ellie knows when to apply pressure, and when to let off.

Sack Lunch Saturday this weekend! If you’ve ever wanted to try milking a cow, or make homemade butter, come give it a try. The weather looks like it’s going to cool off, so bring your jacket and boots, along with a lawn chair and a sack lunch.

Everyone who comes Saturday will be able to shop in our Farm Store with a 10% discount! We’ll have plenty of our milk drinks for your lunch if you like.

We’ll be tidying up today and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
