The Corner Post Roadside Market

This roadside market is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. When we travel to the Northwestern Washington State I have always been drawn to the little roadside stands selling flowers....they have the most amazing flowers, tulips, daffodils, carnations, dahlias, gladiolas Oh MY! But they only concedntrated on one item...cut flowers, potted plants, produce, etc....I wanted something

more. I wanted it ALL! This year I finally mentioned to Jerry I would like to do something like they do...an honesty based roadside market, but an expanded version everything from bouquets to veggies to jams and jellies. He was skeptical, but went along with me on it and started building what I asked for. We purchased dahlia bulbs over Easter in Sequim, Washington while visiting my in-laws, dug up a part of our garden that hasn't been used in a long time and started the process. It has been an experience, but I am happy to say we are looking at expanding the garden to accommodate not only more flowers, but more vegetables. That's right we will be selling the vegetables the same way. I am also happy to say that most of Jerry's skepticism has gone and he is completely excited about how well this little market is going. Since this is our first year there was a HUGE learning curve, but I have taken notes, know what I did wrong and right and will strive to improve in the years to come.
