PAREI’s mission is to build resilient communities in central New Hampshire by increasing access to sustainable local energy and local food—supporting economic stability, a cleaner environment, and healthier living. About PAREI: The Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI) founded in 2004, offers community-based activities, educational programs and professional services all designed to hel
p homeowners, non-profits and businesses reduce energy use or produce solar energy. Its programs and services include home energy saving and solar energy assessments for members, educational presentations, community Energy Exchanges and events, a volunteer Energy Advisor Network, net zero energy building and solar project tours, NHSaves ButtonUp statewide workshops, solar energy consulting and solar PV installations for residential members and local non-profits. In 2006, PAREI founded and is home to Local Foods Plymouth program - a year-round online local foods weekly marketplace providing the community an opportunity to access and support the region’s local food infrastructure and save energy through local food sourcing. PAREI is also the sole owner of NH Solar Shares LLC, a program started in 2017 in partnership with NH Electric Cooperative that builds community solar PV arrays with charitable funds for the purpose of producing solar electricity for monthly electric bill credits for local low-income families and increasing the amount of clean energy in our local grid. NH Solar Shares’ arrays are located in Plymouth, Center Harbor and Warren, NH and produce enough solar energy to provide solar credits for over 30 local income-eligible families. Our mission is to build a resilient community for all through sustainable energy, local food, economic growth, and healthy living.
