Hello social media community, today March 1st 2026 is somehow, unbelievably the ten year anniversary of Jersey Pride Deli being open for business. It is quite surreal to realize that I have been operating my personal business in Pompton Lakes for a decade. It has survived: local flooding, multiple heavy winter storms, continued raising prices and even a global pandemic. I have been around long enough to have had mutiple: sales reps, staff hires, inspectors and other local business suppliers retire or even close due to unforseen circumstances or just from longevity. I have been very fortunate to survive these past 10 years due to an excellent support system and just plain hard work, and this achievement would not be possible without the following people through the years. I'd like to thank my family for their consistent and never-ending support. From rides, to delivery, to just Sunday dinners @ my parents thank you, love ya. To all of the staff that have ever worked for me, and to my current and longest tenured employee, thank you for your work ethic, time and dedication to the business throughout the years. To all of my loyal regulars and to anyone who has ever purchased anything from the deli, your continued patronage is highly appreciated and I am beyond grateful and humbled to still be able to (hopefully)provide consistent, quality food @ a good price point.
In this current corporate atmosphere it is getting more and more difficult to compete with these larger business entities. For me whether it's: Wawa, Quick Check, Jersey Mike's, or even Starbucks/Dunkin Doughnuts these larger businesses are popping up @ an alarming rate throughout the northeast. Some are literally being built less than a mile apart on the same road. I understand competition in the marketplace and have tried to evolve as a small business to stay competitive and yet profitable enough to survive the current economic environment. If your reading this I ask that you support your local business if you can. Whether its a dog groomer, small bar, hardware store or just a bagel shop your patronage goes a long way into helping the local community keep its small businesses alive and thriving.
Well, to everyone else who has every supported me or just heard my complain about work, thank you as well. Hard work pays off, have a goal and setup a plan to achieve it. Again I find it surreal that it has been a decade, time moves extremely fast everyone. Appreciate what you have and plan for the future, because sooner rather than later the future becomes this moment. So here's to friends, family and hopefully a good balance between life and work!! š» Cheers!
