🌺 IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Tropical Hibiscus

Did you know each hibiscus bloom only lasts ONE day? 🤯 But don't let that fool you — a healthy plant produces so many buds it looks full and colorful all season long.
Here's what they need to thrive on Long Island:
☀️ Full sun — 6+ hours a day. More sun = more blooms. It's that simple.
💧 Consistent water — don't let them fully dry out, especially in summer heat
🌡️ Warmth — they love our hot LI summers, just bring them in before first frost in October
🪴 A good feed — use a bloom-booster fertilizer every 2 weeks to keep the flowers coming

Tropical Hibiscus are treated as summer annuals here on Long Island, but you can overwinter them indoors and bring them back out next year. One plant, endless summers. 🌿
