Fall is in the air and we are seeing some produce changes as well. Grapes are coming on strong now. Local Schuylers from Jerry and Sharon Becker are on the shelf, along with red seedless and Reliance varieties from CA. Stone fruits are winding down with the last of the Camas Valley peaches coming in this week. Please be kind and don’t take too many so everyone can get some. Italian prune plums from CV are still here, along with their fabulous apples and pears.
We may get lucky and have a few Valley Flora strawberries, but the chance is slim. Valencia oranges have been delicious and economical, as well.
Corn from Valley Flora is here, along with some beautiful medley beans and their awesome greens, beets and summer squashes. Camas Valley winter squashes are coming as well, with Frost and Acorns in the bins this week.
Lots of local heirloom tomatoes, alongside CV slicers and CA Romas, so get those sauces going. We will have some VF basil this week to help with that. We are stocked up on all kinds of sweet and regular potatoes.
Enjoy the sunshine! Cheers, Meg and Deb
