MOFGA’s new storytelling project is seeking submissions! We’re asking you (yes, you!) to share your experiences in response to the theme of “Breaking Ground.” Do you have a story about learning to prep a garden bed with your grandfather? A tale of tilling a field to get a crop seeded before a coming storm? An account of using goats or pigs to clear land for cultivation? A dream of “breaking ground” on a new farm or food project that came to fruition? Submit your short (300 words or less), true story to [email protected], along with your full name and the name of your town and state, by January 10, 2021. If your story is selected for publication in our quarterly newspaper, The Maine Organic Farmer & Gardener, you will receive a complimentary one-year gift subscription to share with someone you love. For our very first round of MOFGA Stories, the theme was the Common Ground Country Fair – read a collection of stories from MOFGA members, staff, volunteers and fairgoers via http://www.mofga.org/Publications/The-Maine-Organic-Farmer-Gardener. Tag someone that has a story to share!
