Dearest friends, The Minnow has come to a crossroads. Our little neighborhood eatery has realized the original vision of its founding. The menu is dialed, folks love the food, and the team is as solid as can be.
Unfortunately, the model is not sustainable in the current state of the industry. Costs have grown, eating into already slim margins, and our capital has dwindled. We’ve raised prices to to try and keep up, but at this point we would need to sacrifice aspects of our mission to make it work.
Which leaves us with the decision: Do we take on expensive debt to continue operating, with the hopes that things stabilize? Or do we close down responsibly, preserving the relationships we’ve built, and take all we’ve learned into the next chapter?
Really, the choice is clear: On to the next adventure!
It’s been an amazing run. We’ve met an astounding cohort of growers, distributors, chefs, neighbors, travelers, and eaters who all truly appreciate good food grown and made with love. We tried a lot of versions of what might work, and had a lot of fun doing it! To those who helped The Minnow along its way, you have our sincerest thanks.
We will continue with our normal schedule until Sunday, January 18, which will be our last day of service.
Until then, all retail goods will be 20% off.
So come on down and wish us bon voyage, have a last bite, and help us sell out as we swim off into the sunset. 🌅🐬
