Hello everyone!
We only need a couple of more shifts to fill this semester before we can open at an efficient rate. These shifts are Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6:30 PM. If this works with your schedule, we encourage you to sign up for a shift! You can do homework, serve tea and coffee, and occupy a relaxed space. We realize it's an inconvenient time with classes and dining hours, but it would be greatly appreciated if a couple of people filled these shifts! Hope everyone's semester is going well!

In light of recent events, we'd like to explain what happened so it won't happen again. In the days leading up to the show, a poster was made that stated "sobriety strongly discouraged," which is in direct conflict with LCs Drugs & Alcohol policy. In addition, this statement is exclusionary to all that are sober for personal or medical reasons. We asked for all the posters to be taken down, but before they were an administrator saw them and reported them to a few different organizations on campus. Although the poster was not representative of the values and rules of the co-op, the administrators stated that there wasn't a way to separate the event from the message and they told us we need to cancel the show until further notice. We here at the Rusty Nail Co-op want to provide a space for all students to create, perform, and occupy. As long as policies aren't broken, we can continue to operate normally. In the future, just make sure to think about the campus as a whole before acting. We will do our part to monitor the messages that are representing the Co-op and make the policies clear to those who are advertising for us.

Best,
The Rusty Nail Coordinators
