Our Story
Vendors: contact Lee Hunsberger 517 348-9669 for information about setting up. Set up is free; no fee to vendors. Kids are welcome to sell their grandpa’s eggs or produce from their garden or the family farm; there is always at least one vendor who is too young to drive a car.
The market gathers in and around the Red Mill Pavilion on Water Street in Portland. See pictures at Friends of the Red Mill (Facebook) for an idea of the setting.
Visit because pictures cannot capture the spirit of these people in this place. Early in the season, there will be plants, coffee, baked goods, pottery and other homemade stuff. As the year passes there will be an increasing quantity and variety of home grown fruits and vegetables. Inevitably, by October, gardens are going to sleep and variety dwindles, but you can still get the best coffee, baked goods and fellowship. Come to this farmers market to see community cooperation. See you at the market every Saturday from June through mid-October.
