Help us extend a warm welcome to a new vendor this market season, Jorj Bread! Jorj is excited to meet the diverse community at the St. Johns Farmers Market, build relationships, and have the opportunity to share bread and baked goods with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients.

Jorj’s baking journey began in 2024 when his dog, now Jorj Bread’s logo inspiration, passed away. He channeled his negative emotions into bread making, exploring grain science and sourcing grains from local mills. Additionally, Jorj Bread highlights their commitment to locally sourced ingredients to support the regional food system and provide healthy products to our community. Jorj said that using local grain mill flours allows him to make quality products more accessible to everyone through their breads and other goods.

As a new business owner, Jorj has found a lot of support from other PDX business owners, including Jake Newcomb from Newks Hot Sauce. An important part of the business for Jorj is to be able to give back to the community. Jorj Bread has been at pop ups supporting immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ organizations, and those struggling with food insecurity.

While Jorj is looking forward to sharing all of his menu with the St. Johns community this market season, he is especially proud of his sourdoughs, cardamom buns, brownies, and cookies! You can find Jorj Bread at the market this Saturday, 5/30!

Meet Nana’s Ollas! New to the market this year, you can find Nana’s Ollas serving up authentic food from the Guerrero region of Mexico. “I believe that my food is my identity, because the recipes that I offer to the public comes from my family,” Imelda said. “The dishes we make is truly authentic; I prepared them with love using fresh and local ingredients from my heart to yours.”

The business name, Nana’s Ollas, is a tribute to Imelda’s mother, who cooked in ollas, earthenware clay pots. Imelda said she is excited to serve her delicious traditional food to the community of St. Johns. Check out Nana’s Ollas vegan tamales made with black beans with hierba Santa (Mexican pepperleaf), and garbanzo beans.

Last fall, we shared a new direction for the St. Johns Center for Opportunity. As we enter the 2026 season, we are excited to turn our entire focus to investing in the farmers market, as we work to strengthen and expand this community asset over the coming years.

Over the winter, our staff and Board of Directors worked to update the organization’s mission, vision, and values, to reflect this change. We are proud to share these with you today.

The 2026 Vendor Application is OPEN!

We are looking for small agricultural, food, and arts & craft businesses that grow, raise, or produce their products in Oregon and Washington. We have a heavy emphasis on increasing the diversity of the market's offerings, including a variety of products that represent a wide range of cultures and lived experiences. This includes supporting businesses run by immigrants & refugees, people with disabilities, people who are living or have lived in poverty, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We also love to feature businesses based in the St. Johns neighborhood or North Portland broadly.
