First things first! Did you know that it's Worldwide Knit in Public Day? If not, now you do! Bring your projects and come on down to the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center and knit with like-minded friends! This was a lot of fun last year, and the weather will be perfect!
We'll also have Yoga at the Market from 9AM-10AM, and Classic Cars & Coffee at the Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market from 9AM til ... ? Also live music from Sidewalk Series - Tommy Blasst from 10AM-2PM, and our friend e.j. luxe jewelry will be celebrating her birthday, right at the market! *HERE'S THE PARTIAL VENDOR LIST FOR OUR GIGANTIC FIRST SATURDAY TRIPLE MARKET DAY, JUNE 6, 2026!*
Why "partial? Because it is impossible to list the over 200 farmers, florists, bakers, chefs, crafters, musicians, artists, and other vendors who will be spread across several blocks at multiple events in Olde Towne on Saturday! YES starting at 9AM we will have over 60 vendors at the Farmers Market, but we will also have the First Saturday Art Market in Olde Towne Portsmouth and the Olde Towne Antique & Flea Market! Also starting at 9AM is Classic Cars & Coffee FIRST SATURDAY TRIPLE EVENT at the Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market and Yoga at the Market! At 10AM the Antique & Flea begins, and also at 10 AM it's time for live music from Sidewalk Series - Doug Parsons on High Street! At 11AM, you'll have a Concert in the Courtyard with the Elizabeth Riverboys. And at 12 noon, Portsmouth Pride VA Fest begins, from the corner of High & Dinwiddie to Effingham!
TRAFFIC NOTE: HIGH STREET WILL BE CLOSED FROM COURT STREET TO EFFINGHAM, ON BOTH SIDES. Court Street will remain open, and you can access the area via Court Street, County Street, Crawford Street, and London Street.
PARKING: As always, there will be FREE parking in the 200 County Street parking lot (200 spaces), FREE parking in the 441 Middle Street garage (400 spaces from the 2nd deck up), FREE parking in the 500 Water Street garage (415 spaces), and FREE parking on-street wherever not otherwise posted. When in doubt, pull up to the intersection of High & Court and look for one of our military volunteers in the yellow safety vests, and they will give you directions to available parking!

Market family, we have to share some sad news.
Anyone who's been to the market for the past several years has met Helix, of Helix Farm, one of our "market dogs" who everyone loved. He's the big gentle giant who enjoyed sprawling across the sidewalk near Jimmy John's, getting his belly rubbed and getting pats on the head from his thousands of Saturday friends, and hoping to get some treats. He was a very sweet boy.
Sadly, Helix passed away unexpectedly last weekend, and Ed, his human, is understandably heartbroken. Ed will be back this Saturday, please stop by Helix Farm and let him know your favorite memories of Helix.
