Something Special coming in the Spring of 2027
Several years ago, I read an article about how the low harmonic vibration of bees was helpful in the treatment of PTSD and have wanted to provide access to our bees to help in some way. Recently, I discovered "Bee House Therapy". It involves a bee house (shed, cottage) where you can sit or lay on top of bee hives and experience the sounds and smells of the bees for therapeutic reasons while being safely separated from the bees.
Our plan is to build a bee therapy house and offer sessions (Discounted for Military and First Responders) beginning in the Spring. Follow along with us on the journey as we will be posting updates and progress pictures. Below is a summary of the benefits of bee therapy and photos of an example therapy house.
How Bee House Therapy Works
Therapeutic apiary houses utilize three main mechanisms to stimulate relaxation and healing:
Vibroacoustic Hum: Active honeybee colonies produce a constant, low-frequency acoustic vibration between 200–400 Hz. This rhythmic hum acts like white noise, soothing the central nervous system, reducing cortisol, and promoting deep sleep.
Hive Air Inhalation: Guests breathe in warm, ionized air circulated from active hives. This air is naturally infused with micro-particles of propolis, beeswax, royal jelly, pollen, and nectar.
Aromatherapy: The rich scent profile of honey and essential oils evaporates through vents into the room, working to clear respiratory pathways.
Wellness Benefits: While considered a complementary practice rather than a medical cure, users seek out apiary therapy for several targeted wellness advantages:
Respiratory Support: Inhaling hive-conditioned air helps open up airways, benefiting people with asthma, bronchitis, or environmental allergies.
Stress and Anxiety Reduction: The physical bone conduction of the hive's vibrations helps slow down heart rates and lower blood pressure.
Immune and Cellular Regulation: Propolis-rich environments deliver natural antioxidants and antimicrobial compounds that clean the lungs and support immune health.

What to Expect During a Session:
A typical session at a dedicated apiary wellness facility includes the following parameters:
Duration: Sessions last between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Environment: You rest comfortably on a custom wooden bed built directly above our hives housing tens of thousands of active bees.
Delivery: Passive room circulation through fine steel mesh
Safety: Bees are kept completely sealed off, with separate entrances facing outside the building so they can forage without ever interacting with guests.
