We cut some of our heirloom pumpkins today! And Trinity had fun practicing her evil queen looks.
These are the biggest Blue Doll and Queensland Blues that I've grown!
First time growing Cinderella's Carriage. The other one still growing is bigger but this one was starting to stretch too much so I pulled it early.
And my Indian Doll Triamble which is the 1st of its kind I've seen. I'm so going to save those seeds ๐Ÿ’•

Here are some updates on my pumpkins!
They're looking good!
Kinda all over the place in regards to size.
I was hoping to get some good carving pumpkins this year. (My carving ones always end up super small for some reason!)
Well... they were growing great!
Getting to a nice big size. Then even though I have them covered they've started oranging up some so I'm not sure how much bigger they're gonna get. It's a little disappointing!
My little batwing is GIGANTIC!!! Holy cow I've never had one so big. (Average size is only 4oz - 8 oz) Seed companies say larger but I've never had large batwings. And it's not even close to being ripe yet!
A lot of my maximas (heirlooms) are getting large too! Have a few smaller ones but my sizes are larger than last year's.
I've definitely seen an increase in my sizing since I decided to cover up the pumpkins with fabric to shield them from the sun.
But still having trouble with my carvers ugh...
If anyone has any tips for them let me know!!!

Our 2nd harvest. I pick when I feel they're ready instead of leaving them in the patch.
I have a lot of specialties that would change color as well as lots of bugs and squirrels that eat them.
I forgot to post my 1st harvest on my page (I did it on my Instagram though ๐Ÿคฃ)
The picture of the basket of pumpkins was our first harvest and that was Aug. 1st.
Currently have 79 pumpkins harvested.

The pumpkins are coming along great!
Got a bunch growing approx. 450.
Spike can't be in the patch anymore. The vines are bigger this year and he keeps getting stuck ๐Ÿคฃ. I'm already missing him following me around. He just sits in the house whining cuz he wants to be a pumpkin farmer.

My patch is coming along nicely!
I have about 96 pumpkins pollinated!
I love how it's looking ๐Ÿ˜
I was going to try to do less than last year but I'm just too EXTRA ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฏ
AND.... I planted 68 spots IN GROUND! And 133 pots! Have over 500 plants total plus about 100 random ones in the front yard haha (those are not doing great though)
Trying to see if I get better results and size in ground because I'm always told I should just plant them in ground.
Currently I'm seeing half /half. Better sizing in half of my pots vs. in ground.
It's interesting. But our ground is hard, clay and difficult to manage.
Weeds are out of control but I don't have enough time to deal with them haha

Soooo Excited! Our season had officially started!
Greatest thanks to Stephanie Clark for helping me out with some male flowers!
First pumpkins pollinated today!
2 Turks Turbans and 1 mystery!
And Trinity's King's Wild Patch got its first pollination as well. It's a cute little ball shape โค๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ.
Hers are all going to be mystery pumpkins this year since most of them are from the squirrel eating, and her and Ross playing throw the rotting pumpkin all winter haha ๐Ÿคฃ. We did plant some of the extras I thinned out as well. Over 100 in the front yard alone.

Yay! First babies of the season! They'll be opening in a couple of weeks.
The patch is starting to get prettier. In about 3 weeks it'll look so cool!
So exciting! We've got some Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Grizzley Bear, Neon, and Half Pint babies.
I'm exciting to see how the season goes!
Trinitys patch (King's Wild Patch) is taking off too. Between her and the squirrels, they've managed to make her patch crazy! We have over 100 pumpkins in the front yard haha.
3 babies out there that'll probably open late this week! Who knows what we'll get out there.
Have to watch as they grow.

Got all my pumpkins seeded finally! Several have already germinated.
I was planning on doing less this year but I'm just EXTRA. All the time haha
Wanted to do 50-75 varieties and 75- 100 plantings.
Wellllll..... I now have 126 varieties (so yay I DID do less than last year. Only by 28 varieties though) but... I have actually planted more.
I have 164 planted in pots and 45 planted in ground!
I dont understand myself hahaha.
Just a little crazy ๐Ÿคช ๐Ÿคฃ
We fed the squirrels the pumpkins when they went bad all winter and now have 30 growing in the front yard. It will be interesting to see how they grow and what pumpkins we end up with!

I can't wait to see it all jungly and beautiful again!

I was getting tired of my pumpkins wasting away under tarps waiting for people to come by and buy them, or getting eaten by the damn squirrels (they've eaten over 30 of them!) They were not getting enjoyed which is what I grew them for.
I've been feeling depressed about my pumpkin journey and just letting the selling of them get me down in the dumps.
So we decided to not sell them!
We went out there this morning and I let Trinity "buy" a bunch of our pumpkins to play with.

I'm already feeling freer and happier. My pumpkins are getting to be enjoyed and not rotting away with no enjoyment.

And todays homeschooling lesson has been all about stacking. It's been glorious ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ˜
I'm just not made for selling I guess.
And if you want some still just let us know but I'm done trying to please people that never come to even see my little beauties.
I love them!!!! And I want them to be enjoyed

Here is the week's harvest. Had to take 2 pictures because I had some drying from their bleach bath and forgot to add them in.
Cut our last 2 giants. They're beautiful! One looks like a bell pepper for Jack and the Beanstalk and the other is a HUGE stacker style pumpkin.
Bell pepper weighed in at 39 lbs and the stacker was 40 1/2 lbs! The largest out of my patch this year was the one I dropped.
Love my Best Mummy Ever and Best Dadcula ever pumpkins! Funny thing is the dad ones didn't grow to their true size so they are small! Still have my 2 lil monsters on the vine and they may grow bigger than the dadcula pumpkin ๐Ÿคฃ
Sorry dad's! You got some small pumpkins ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
