Store fixtures for sale! I'll be in and out of the shop this next week, so we can set a time for pickup. Items will be deleted as sold. (Not all items are pictured, I will add more pictures tomorrow)

Yesterday was a tough day. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for those of you who came out to show your support. I was floored that we had a line 30 minutes before we opened until we sold out of everything but a few jars of beans and a few oatmeal cups. Wow. Just. Wow.

There was a point in the midst of it that it began to pour yet the sun was still shining bright. It stopped me in my tracks today reflecting on that moment. It reminded me that even when it’s storming and you can’t see the sun, it’s still there. Be the sunshine that’s bold enough to shine through the rain. Although the storm is passing through, that’s just it, it’s passing through. Do your best not to get discouraged and know that the sun is still there.

I am touched by the heart of our community, the people are what make it so wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We shared lots of laughs and tears throughout the day yesterday. I’m touched by our regular customers that waited 30 minutes, even when there was nothing left to buy, just to say thank you and share good wishes and hugs.

I have a lot to figure out in the coming days and weeks. I know there are a lot of products we carried that just aren’t available without a long drive or costly shipping. Know that I am seeking a way to fix that. Small business has been the heart of my business. That is why our shelves were stocked with products made by hand and with heart. As a community we had great reach to help support the dreams of of small businesses not only in Putnam but across the nation. We all hand a hand in helping young, charitable, women, minority, veteran, and LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs by buying their products. The reach is huge and lifts up people, just like you and me, that dare to do things differently, in our own unique ways, and make a positive impact on our world.

Dream all the dreams and follow them, even through the storms. Be the sun that refuses to do anything but what it’s is purposed to do, shine, baby, shine.

Hi friends, this is really hard for me to announce but it is necessary. The last year has been absolutely wonderful at Little Lucy’s. In the last month it has become very apparent that I need to make some changes even if they are hard and painful to do. My presence at home and availability for family has been greatly reduced since opening the brick and mortar shop.

At the time I opened the doors in the Montgomery Ward building, everything was aligned and in balance between work and home. Due to some unforeseen changes, it has been growingly difficult to maintain an adequate presence in both home and the shop. Our sales have been better than anticipated but not yet enough to sustain bringing on an employee to balance my time better.

I have such a heavy heart in making the announcement that we will be closing the shop. This Saturday will be our last day open. I wish that I could continue to serve you in this capacity. I am not sure yet where the road will go but I need to pivot and put family in the priority role right now.

I am so incredibly thankful for all of your patronage, encouragement, and for all the precious friendships I have made since opening the shop. It has truly been a blessing to have a chance at fulfilling a dream. It’s not over yet, it just needs time to evolve and adapt to current circumstances. I promise to keep you updated and keep my chin up. There are some hard days ahead but lots of growth and healing, too.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for cheering us on and gobbling up our snacks! Wishing you all the best in health in the New Year.

Good morning, friends! Unfortunately, I am not feeling up to being in the shop today, so we will be closed for the day. We'll see you next Saturday.

Good afternoon, friends! I hope 2024 is off to a stellar start!

Today is the first day back from my winter break. This morning’s project was inventory and taking down Christmas decorations…. I think I did too much and angered the pinched nerve in my neck. I need to head back home and get some ice on it…. And have nurse Lucy make biscuits out of me!

I got my MRI results back yesterday… I’ve got a road of healing ahead of me and the difficult task of slowing down so I can heal.

For the next few weeks we will be closed during the week and open on Saturdays from 11 to 4.

Thanks in advance for your understanding and patience. I can’t wait to see you all soon!

Whew! What an amazing week! We are sold out of almost everything! Thank you to everyone who came out and shopped local this holiday season, it means the world to us!

I’m calling it a day a little early to go home and get some heat on this pinched nerve. I’ll be taking the week off between Christmas and New Years for some much needed rest and time with the family.

Happy Friday, friends! We will be closing at 5 today so I can go get an MRI done on my pesky shoulder and neck. If we miss you today, we’ll be here from 10 to 6 on Saturday.
