The Mountain Misfits are a spirited Plumas County trio featuring young musicians Violet and Lucius Kitchens alongside their music teacher, Greg Willis. For the past two years they’ve been bringing their lively mix of bluegrass mash-ups, folk-Americana covers, and blues to stages around Quincy—playing open mic nights, appearing as featured guests at Words and Music, entertaining residents at the Skilled Nursing Facility, and sharing their sound at The Americana Fests Barker stage. With an infectious love of traditional and roots music, The Mountain Misfits deliver warm, joyful performances that capture the spirit of the mountains.

From the heavy metal forges of the Sacramento Valley farm country, to the red dirt roads of the foothills of the Sierras, to the grunge-blues woodshed warehouses of the East Bay, local stranger Vince Rogers came to work in the woods and waters of Northeastern California in 2016 and has been honing his songcraft ever since.

VNCNT’s influences range from Stevie Ray Vaughn to the Steeldrivers; expect an organic mix of beefalo plaid-grass, sourdough soul, and chicken-fried folk rock.
