MARZ COMMUNITY BREWING COMPANY - Founded on the premise that the art, culture, food, and liquid we were drinking and enjoying would also be enjoyed by others, we created Marz as a platform for ongoing experimental collaboration—in the beers we were brewing and with the culture of the city as well.
The brewery was formed as a dream in 2013 while we hung out at Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. We combined our love of craft beer (first envisioned in print through the Mash Tun Journal) with our desire to make our city a better place to live, work, and play by creating Marz Community Brewing Co. With the encouragement of our friends in the Chicago craft brewing community, we opened our first nano-production facility in a storefront on Halsted Street, using a quaint 3-barrel Psycho Brew system. We started brewing and selling beer in the summer of 2014.
RESIDENT CULTURE - we take our beer seriously, but most importantly, we value the relationships and family culture we have cultivated. We are proud to have an incredibly tight-knit crew, all of whom play an important role in making this place our home. At the end of the day, it’s beer that we make, but it’s our community and the taking care of each other that makes the foundation we’re built upon.
DUTCHESS ALES - began with the goal of simply creating pure, nuanced, and balanced ales, in the British tradition here in the USA. Over time we naturally evolved to brew the international Lagers we love with the same aim of old world purity and balance. We hope you find them refreshing, a joy to drink, and of the highest quality.
