🗂️ THE FUNCTION FILES
Case #001: The Liver

The liver is one of the hardest-working organs in the body.

Modern medicine recognizes it to have over 600 functions. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes it to have 6000…yikes!

One of its most important jobs is detoxification.

What many people don’t realize is that detoxification happens in two phases.

Phase 1 takes toxins, hormones, chemicals, medications, and metabolic waste and begins breaking them down.

The problem?

The substances produced during Phase 1 are MORE toxic and potentially more irritating to the body than they were before.

That’s where Phase 2 comes in.

Phase 2 takes those intermediate compounds and packages them for safe removal through the urine, stool, and other elimination pathways.

But what happens when Phase 1 is moving faster than Phase 2?

Things start to back up.

It’s like having a factory that can dismantle 100 boxes per hour, but the shipping department can only send out 50. Before long, boxes are piled everywhere.

Clinically, we often see signs of liver stress show up in ways people don’t expect:

• Hormonal imbalances
• Hair loss
• Digestive complaints
• Food sensitivities
• Allergies (this is huge for many of you)
• Skin issues like eczema and psoriasis
• Fatigue
• Sleep disturbances
• Sleep apnea

The goal isn’t to force detoxification.

The goal is to support the body’s ability to process and eliminate what it’s already trying to handle.

At our clinic, we don’t chase symptoms. We look for patterns of stress and dysfunction that may be preventing the body from functioning optimally.

Because when the liver becomes overwhelmed, the effects can be felt far beyond the liver itself.

If your house is on fire, you call the firefighters.

But once the fire is out, you don’t ask the firefighters to rebuild the house.
You call the carpenters.

That’s the difference between modern medicine and holistic care.

Modern medicine is designed to save lives, holistic care is designed to restore them.

Modern medicine is for emergency intervention.

Holistic care is focused on helping rebuild and restore the body:
• Nutrition
• Nervous system regulation
• Detoxification pathways
• Lifestyle habits
• Organ and gland function
• Restoration and resilience

They serve different purposes.

One is focused on stabilizing and suppressing.
The other is focused on supporting function and rebuilding foundations over time.

This isn’t “either/or.” Both can co exist but they can’t coexist in the same place and at the same time. Both have value.

But many people are trying to rebuild their health with emergency-based tools alone — and wondering why they still don’t feel well.

You don’t send carpenters into a burning building.
And you don’t ask firefighters to rebuild the home afterward.

If you’re looking to restore and rebuild your health naturally, join us at our next Orientation class!
Bonus: For attending, you receive your first 2 visits complementary to make absolutely certain we are the right match for you.

Allergy season is upon us… and guess what?

You don’t have a Claritin deficiency. 😉

Yes, calming the histamine response matters. That’s often the first step when someone is miserable with congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes, headaches, or sinus pressure.

But here’s the deeper question:

Why is your nervous system overreacting to a neutral or harmless substance?

Pollen is not the enemy. The overreaction is.

Most allergy medications, antihistamines, and even allergy shots focus on suppressing the histamine response itself. But they do not change the nervous system signal to produce that histamine in the first place.

At our clinic, we use specific techniques designed to interrupt that overreactive pattern and help support and calm the nervous system’s response to those substances. 🌀

Because the goal isn’t just to “block symptoms.”

The goal is helping the body stop sounding the alarm every time exposure occurs. 🌱

05/18/2026

Before you add more to your health routine, you may need to clear out what’s blocking your body from responding.

If your body isn’t responding, the problem may not be the therapy — it may be the foundation.

Most people want to jump straight to the “solution” — the supplement, the adjustment, the treatment, the protocol.

But Phase 1 of almost any natural health program should be the same:Diet change + cleansing support.

Why?

Because the body cannot function properly when it is overwhelmed by toxicity and depleted of the nutrients it needs to heal, repair, and perform.

At the core, most chronic dysfunction comes back to two major issues:• A high toxic load• Severe nutrient deficiencies

When the body is overloaded and undernourished, systems begin to break down. Energy drops. Digestion weakens. Hormones become imbalanced. Inflammation rises. The body loses its ability to adapt and regulate properly.

This is why foundational work matters.

When you begin reducing the burden on the body while simultaneously rebuilding nutrient reserves, the body can finally start functioning the way it was designed to.

Not only does this improve overall health and performance — it also makes other modalities work better.

Massage works better.
Chiropractic works better.
Acupuncture works better.

Because now the body is actually in a state where it can respond.

You cannot build optimal health on top of a stressed, toxic, depleted foundation.

The foundation matters first.

Most people were never taught how daily habits shape long-term health.

Instead, they were taught to chase symptoms while the body continued to break down underneath the surface.

Your current state of health didn’t happen overnight.
It’s the accumulation of years of stress, poor sleep, nutritional depletion, inflammation, environmental burden, and lifestyle patterns.

What you’ve done for the last 10–20 years has helped shape where your health is today.
And what you choose to do over the next 10–20 years will help shape where your health is headed.

And healing rarely comes from a single supplement, medication, or “quick fix.”

It comes from restoring function.
It comes from consistency.
It comes from supporting the body in the right order over time.

That’s what we help people do.

At Aspire, we focus on identifying stress patterns within the body, supporting function naturally, and guiding clients through a structured, monitored approach to care.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, nurturers, caregivers, and women who spend so much of their lives pouring into everyone else.

One thing we see often in our clinic is that many mothers become so focused on caring for others that they slowly stop caring for themselves. Stress becomes normal. Exhaustion becomes normal. Running on empty becomes normal.

But your health matters too. Your energy matters. Your nervous system matters. Your wellbeing matters.

That message is especially meaningful to me because I have the privilege of building Aspire alongside my mom, Carol. What started as a shared passion for helping people has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined.

Her compassion, faith, strength, and heart for people have helped shape the entire foundation of Aspire and the environment we strive to create for every person who walks through our doors.

So today we celebrate the women who give so much of themselves every single day — including the moms who are still learning how to pour back into themselves too. 💙

We do not need more information.
We need more ex*****on.

Most people already know the basics:
• sleep more
• eat better
• reduce stress
• drink water
• move your body
• stop living on processed foods
• be consistent

But in today’s world, people are drowning in information while starving for implementation.

Social media has created a culture of constant consumption:
another podcast
another supplement
another “hack”
another ad
another influencer
another magic fix

Meanwhile, the fundamentals are being ignored.

Healing is not found in the next trendy product someone is trying to sell you. It’s found in consistently doing the basic things the body requires to function well.

The truth is, most people don’t need another 47-step protocol.
They need structure.
Consistency.
Accountability.
And the willingness to execute daily habits long enough to see change.

Information without implementation changes nothing.

Dr. Bernard Jensen once taught, “All diseases are curable — but not every patient.”

What makes someone “incurable?” Often, it has very little to do with the diagnosis itself.

There are 3 types of people that are the hardest to help:

1. The person who refuses to change their habits.
You cannot heal in the same environment, lifestyle, and patterns that contributed to dysfunction in the first place. If you refuse to change, you often get to keep the problem.
2. The person looking for a quick fix.
Real healing is rarely instant. The body heals in layers, over time, through consistency and support. If it took 10 years to develop ill health, it likely won’t take 2 days to restore it.
3. The person who has already decided nothing will work.
The nervous system, mindset, stress state, and belief patterns all influence physiology more than most people realize.

Healing is not about perfection. It’s about participation.

The body was designed to heal, adapt, and restore function when given the right opportunities and support. But healing also requires responsibility, consistency, and willingness from the individual.

That’s why our approach focuses on restoring function, not chasing symptoms.

Health trends come and go, but the body responds best to thoughtful, individualized support.

When we focus on how the body functions rather than what’s popular, it becomes much easier to create lasting results.

For those curious about this approach, we share more about it in our FREE Orientation Classes held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
