Have you seen Madonna?
Unfortunately, we are dealing with another situation similar to Gemma, a pet that was found and then allegedly kept by the finder.
Madonna was last seen wearing a pink harness on Ocean Ave/Ludlow Ave in Spring Lake - she was found by a good Samaritan who took her to be scanned for a microchip. Madonna is microchipped and her owner was contacted but was unreachable at the time. Madonna was released back to the good Sam and advised to bring her to the SPCA or Humane Society - but sadly that did not happen. No contact information was taken, and security footage is still being reviewed.
Madonna is a service dog and the family is only seeking her safe return; they have no intention of pursuing any charges. *We’d like to add that local veterinary hospitals ARE advised to tell good Samaritans to bring lost pets to the MCSPCA or Humane Society.
