Mixed feelings about it being September already, but wow is it a good time of year for produce!

Peaches are done for the year, but…

It’s that magical time of year when summer and fall collide!
Apples are rolling in. Currently from Fix Bros. : Sweet Maia (reminiscent of early Gala) and Gingergold (Linda Fix’s FAVE and a perfect summer apple because it’s so juicy.
We also have our own snappy snacky Chestnut crabapples and our low-key famous DOLGO CRABAPPLE CIDER, which is tart & beautiful & can be sipped straight, added to sparkling water, or mixed into cocktails.

This is THE LAST OF THE PEACHES & NECTARINES!

We have LOADS OF JULIET PLUM TOMATOES! which we use for salsa, but are also excellent for saucing, roasting, & freezing. BIG DEALS on these.

We are also doing a 2 for deal on GREEN & WAX beans.

Today is the big big bread & baked goods day.

Dahlias have been showing their pretty faces.

This weekend is all hands on deck for us-

LOADS of tomatoes: big juicy heirlooms, red slivers, cherry tomatoes, and canning tomatoes “Juliet” specials!

Peaches!! Yellow freestone, White, Saturn, Tango, and wow these v special white nectarines!

MELONS capable of converting non-melon lovers (I’ve met a handful)…

From our kitchen: basil pesto, dill pickles, Juliet tomato salsa, buttermilk biscuits…

So many breads & baked goods

So many greens & veg.

Come ready to EAT!

It’s officially tomato season!
Big juicy heirlooms, cherry tomatoes, red hybrid, & a slew of Juliet plum tomatoes (which we love for salsa, but are also great for sauce, roasting, & freezing).

We have yellow, white, Saturn, & tango peaches .
Blueberries are winding down..

Plus all the other goodies you’d expect during high season at MPO.

A reason to come out in the rain tomorrow! Last weekend we had zero peaches, this week we have yellow, white, and Saturn peaches!

Good morning !
Talea has always said nature doesn’t know about weekends.
Because the peach crop is lighter this year, the nights have been cooler, & for other reasons we can’t control, we still won’t have peaches at the market today.
We’re definitely as sad as you are about that and wish there was something we could do, but Mother Nature is boss.
It’s been such a busy week here at the market and we’re out of a lot of things, but there’s still so much and we’ll be there 9-5.
Today we get Le Perche bread & croissants & Kingston bread, croissants, buns, & cookies.

Peaches are here!
It’s been a pretty brutal year for fruit, and we are so beyond grateful there are still peaches! From our friends at Fix Farm and Klein's Kill Fruit Farms, A. Bartolotta & Sons .
We also have perfect Samascott Orchards blueberries 🫐, first of the season SWEET CORN 🌽, looooaaaddsss of fresh greens, as well as our own cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, beans, & herbs.

Today is the big bread & baked good day with treats from Magpies on Pink Street , Kingston Bread + Bar , Le Perche Bakery and Bar , & SPARROWBUSH BAKERY .

Open 9-6!

Cukes, zukes, tomatoes, fresh herbs, eggplant, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower… Sugar snap peas, Sunflowers, blueberries, loads of greens, loads of root veg…
Later this afternoon: plums & sour cherries

Our refrigerator pickles are back! Also basil pesto!

This week at MPO ❤️‍🔥:

We will be CLOSED THURSDAY 7/2 because of the weather AND closing early Saturday 7/4 at 2 for the holiday!
(OPEN WED, FRI, & SUN REGULAR HOURS).

We’ll have first of the season blueberries! Plus a sprinkling of raspberries & apricots.

We’ll have cukes, zukes, peas, tomatoes, and all kinds of glorious greens & veg to make meals without turning the oven on.
