Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Re*****on Farmer’s Market is to provide a retail business outlet (not wholesale) for local growers/producers of goods, to market their products. Not for profit organizations, such as local youth clubs, sororities, or community foundations, are welcome to use the market to sell fundraising merchandise/raise awareness. Permitted Goods
Because this is a Farmer’
s Market, fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, potted plants, fresh cut or dried flowers, bedding and foliage plants, trees, bushes and such items of horticultural-agricultural nature are our main focus. We welcome “value added” items such as honey, baked goods, eggs, meats, etc. These products must be prepared and sold according to State requirements. Health Dept. Handmade items will be permitted, but must first be approved by market representatives. Vendors, including not for profit organizations, must produce 50% of what they sell unless otherwise approved by market representatives. Vendors who are selling an item they have purchased for resale will stop selling when that “locally” grown item is at the market by another vendor. (Ex. a vendor can sell “tomatoes” they have purchased until another vendor is selling ones that they have produced in their own plot.) Signs must be posted indicating the origin of the product. (ie. Michigan peaches, IN melons, etc.) Eligibility of Sellers-Residency:
Our market is “local,” and all vendors must be full time residents of Jasper County or neighboring communities within a 30 mile radius. All vendors must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult. Vendor Fees: Daily fee is $10 per space or $50 per space for the season
