Nani’s Hugs was established in 2019, inspired by a very special name—“Nani”—given by a beloved grandson. What started as handmade blankets, lovingly called “Hugs,” was a way to keep that connection close, even when apart.

Today, Nani’s Hugs continues to grow, inspired by two beautiful granddaughters and a heart full of love. Along with cozy crochet blankets, you’ll also find thoughtfully crafted jewelry—each piece made with care and intention.

At the heart of Nani’s Hugs is a passion for kindness, connection, and mental health awareness. Every item is created to remind someone they are valued, special, and not alone.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey is the personal connections made at the booth—sharing smiles, stories, and a little extra love with the community.

As The Wood Turns is the creative work of Dan McKinzie, a passionate woodturner who transforms salvaged local timber into beautiful, functional, and artistic pieces.

With a lifelong love of woodworking, Dan’s journey began growing up alongside his father, an industrial arts teacher, and later evolved into woodturning in the 1990s. After a hand injury in 2001, woodturning became part of his physical therapy—leading him to create countless handcrafted pens and eventually step into the world of craft shows.

For over 20 years, Dan has been sharing his work with the community, creating one-of-a-kind pieces designed to be enjoyed for years—even generations. Each item is thoughtfully made, giving new life to wood that might otherwise be discarded.

For Dan, woodturning is more than a craft—it’s a meaningful way to stay creative, connect with others, and turn natural materials into something both useful and treasured.

A huge thank you to Amy at Local Republic Market for opening her doors and hosting our vendor meeting tonight. Her kindness, generosity, and heart for supporting others does not go unnoticed.
