I am saddend to say we will not be doing farmers market this year😔 While on vacation earlier this month Carrie took a tumble and broke her tibia in her leg. No surgery required but is going to require 3 months of not being able to put weight on that leg. I had shoulder surgery mid January and thought I would be healed enough to garden this spring. So between us we have 3 good legs and 3 good arms😔

Hopefully next spring we can garden again🙏

Houston we have a problem🤦‍♂️ Happened last night while I was in the garden. I guess we missed one when we clipped wings.

We could not think of a safe way to mark them as we clipped. Any suggestions?

Our guinea keets are learning their way around the gardens this week.

Just in time because the insects are really starting to show up. We can be pesticide free this year and years to follow.

In the past we have used garden safe products like 7 dust to eradicate bugs. These guys are starting to earn their keep and save us money as well!

Your never too old to learn!

This fella was curled in our squash plants this morning much to Carrie’s delight or maybe fright! I walked over with a hoe and goosed it to get a better look. Snake moved pretty quick so I took a swing to stop it. It stopped and rolled over.

I moved it out in the open to get a safer look. It just laid there so we decided to go ahead and send it heaven bound. After I got inside where I had phone service I discovered it was an eastern hog nosed snake. They roll over and play possum which is what he did. They are good snakes to have around and barely venomous.

Instead of buying a bunch of metal stakes for each individual tomato cage I decided to try this method. Seems to be holding up well!
