CaryTown Teas made its debut in the fall of 2006, opening its doors with a wide array of premium tea blends from around the world. Finally, Richmond would have its own world class, French inspired, "Salon de The." The art of tea blending comes naturally for Patricia Guillouard Adams, the creator and proprietor of CaryTown Teas. Born and raised in Paris, France, she was schooled by her maternal gra

ndmother from an early age in the culture, art, and traditions of fine tea blending. After traveling the world, Patricia moved to New York City where she owned a successful designer fashion boutique. Patricia relocated to Richmond in 2005 to fulfill another dream of hers to create Richmond’s only old world tea shop salon, similar to those she grew up with in France. A loyal clientele quickly followed and was enhanced by the addition of Mistie Roundtree to the staff. Mistie, who is of Native American descent, brought to the shop her own knowledge of holistic medicine, herbology, and her own knowledge of teas -- making her a perfect fit. Together she and Patricia have created a unique environment, merging traditional European tea culture with a holistic approach. CaryTown Teas partners with small family farms and premium tea estates from around the world to offer over one hundred and fifty fair trade and organic tea blends. Additionally, customers can choose from a wide number of custom medicinal blends. CaryTown Teas holds special events and complimentary tea tastings the last Thursday of every month, and can schedule private tastings on request. As we are cranking the holiday tunes and putting up decorations, we are also getting in the spirit of the season by adding all our favorite tea accessories to our online shop! You can now find our porcelain mug and infuser sets, our double-walled glass strainer teapots, and our double-walled glass teacup and strainer sets under the “tea pots and kettles” section of our online store.
