Did you know that we’re boosting cashew yields in West Africa? 🌳 Since 2011, Red River has helped prune and thin dense cashew orchards which improves tree health, increases cashew yields and provides firewood. We've trained dozens of chainsaw operators and pruned hundreds of cashew orchards!

🌳 Last year, we helped train a women’s group in Aya Sakassou, Ivory Coast to establish and manage a tree nursery, housing 9,000 trees. We recently visited the community forest and had some eye-opening discussions with the community members, who shared the challenges they are facing such as changing rainfall patterns due to climate change.

Despite their concerns, they remain dedicated to nurturing the forest. We're inspired by their resilience and proud to support initiatives that empower communities and work towards protecting our environment!

Did you know that our figs come from Western Turkey? In fact, the best quality figs are grown in the mountains where the air is dry and there is lots of sun. ☀️ Due to the terrain being difficult for any sort of motorized transportation, donkeys are used during the fig harvest to trek the figs down from the mountains.
