“The Blended Bunch: Mixed Milk Cheeses and Blended Wines!” Just posted! Join us for an exploration of mixed milk cheeses and blended wines on Monday, August 17th! We’ll talk about why cheeses are sometimes made with more than one milk and why wines sometimes use multiple varietals. Five pairings, lots of blended family fun! Bastille Day celebrations 2026 kicked off last night with an incredible French workshop (and quick French Revolution history that made me remember why I got that liberal arts degree) with Jenissa from Free Run Wine! Today was spent showing a sweet little Loire Valley crottin all the beauty of peach 🍑 picking and a (somewhat failed) hike in and around Charlottesville! Pop by tomorrow and grab a little French cheese to show around town!

On today’s episode of “Before Hours”…. I cracked a wheel of Shropshire Blue! This heartthrob hails from Nottinghamshire and is made by the same folks who make Colston Bassett Stilton! It’s savory, with soft white pepper notes and a whipped cream finish. Pop by for a taste!

Caught up with some favorite cheese people, tried a bunch of fun, new goodies (cheese, charcuterie, accoutrements, get excited!), ran into a former monger (Leo) in the wilds of the city, and enjoyed fabulous meals with the best company! Ready to hit the ground running tomorrow!
