Our basket went for $350 at the Celebration of Decoration event last Thursday night. Thanks to all who continue to support Out of This World Mission Fund through the Community Foundation of Jackson County.

We will have a decorated basket with taco soup ingredients and three jars of Out of This World Salsa. Attend and bid on our basket!

Guess what’s next on our schedule of events……. That’s right our Celebration of Decorations is right around the corner and you don’t want to miss this one!! We have 2 new MC’s this year and it promises to be a hoot!! Come join us for an evening of Giving Back to our Fundholders with lots of new decorations and ideas from our designers and decorators!! Save the Date, Thursday December 5th at Cedar Lakes Conference Center. Social hour and registration begins at 5:30!!!

We have some news! In September our small board met and created the Out of This World Salsa Mission Fund in partnership with the Community Foundation of Jackson County. We estimate it will take a year or two to grow enough to start distributing funds. At this time we plan to distribute annual earnings to Women’s Care Center, Parkersburg, WV, Belpre Area Ministries, Belpre, OH and Calvary Missions Board, Ripley WV. These agencies will be challenged to use our distribution to fund special projects supporting women and children in poverty. Preference would be given to someone with an immigrant background for education, empowerment or to enable them a hand up.
Funds usually start distributing at $30,000 and we are at $21,000. If you would like to support and grow our fund there are a couple of options:

1. As a new fund with Community Foundation of Jackson County, we will be featured as a new fund at their Celebration of Decorations Auction which is being held at Cedar Lakes Conference Center on Thursday December 5th starting at 5:30 – 6:15pm for social hour/registration, and at 6:15pm the auction begins. We have donated a taco soup basket for the auction. Frank Miller, former Parchment Valley Conference Center director, will be one of the MC’s for this special night. Feel free to attend and bid on our basket.

2. You are more than welcome to send a check to the Community Foundation of Jackson County, 108 North Church Street, Ripley, WV 25271 marking it for the Out of This World Salsa Mission Fund on the memo line.

Both ways will assist us in distributing funds more quickly.

I cannot thank this group enough for being part of a project that will continue on as a legacy.

Same Sweet Salsa with a new look! Our friends from Our of this World salsa retired from making salsa in 2023. We decided to purchase the recipe to continue a customer favorite.
