Black Forest Ham, Muenster Cheese, grilled onions, pickle chips, and Russian dressing on Rye, served hot and melty. And not a pothole in sight.

The BQE is not a sandwich to be trifled with. Hit it at the wrong time of day, and your hunger gets stuck in bumper to bumper, belly to belly traffic. The smell, the feel, the taste... It's a whirlwind tour of the tastiest spots on the eastern end of the city.

Instead of sitting in traffic, dreaming of all the flavors you see out your windows, get off the expressway and drop down on to the local streets - stop off and grab one.

Then get back in traffic with a much better attitude.

We nearly forgot what a regular Monday was after the previous weeks of Monday Interrupticus.

But back to it!!

No more lollygagging, no hanging about... We have people to feed!

And this week, let's shake off the chill of Ice Planet Hell and grab this week's lunch special, a bit of springtime wish fulfilment - a Honey Turkey Club, with bacon (of course), sliced mozzarella (because cheese), Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Honey Mustard on Wheat!

And we have much more in store over the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Ok Folks, embargo over. Now we can tell you about our Restaurant Week Specials. (And a big thanks to for helping us keep it from the public til the last minute.)

We have been asked a hundred thousand times since we stopped making them in house during covid.

So this year, for , we proudly present THE BEST MEATBALL HERO EVER!!!

This will be your only opportunity, ONLY OPPORTUNITY, to get one of our meatball heroes. 7" only, no mods or alterations. With a bottle of Stewart's (your choice) and a bag of chips (also your choice) for $15.

To reiterate: house made MEATBALLS, melted MOZZARELLA, lovely PARMESAN, and our own RED SAUCE on a 7" hero.

But wait, we also have something new to try for those so inclined.

A Vegetarian "Meatball" hero that's not loaded down with Soy products???

That's right, we make ours from a tested old recipe using only fresh ricotta, eggs, bread crumbs, and seasonings - then we cook for a while in it's own batch of sauce same as we do the meatballs. They will follow the same path from there, mozzarella, more sauce, Parm, 7"... Yadda yadda.

They are quite tasty.

So there's your marching orders. Supplies are limited so don't be shocked if/when we run out - potentially on a daily basis.

Oh, and is coming back, because what would Restaurant Week be with lousy weather?

Ah well, on with the show!

Do not be fooled by the blacktop you may see out your window. It's wet, and icy, and will probably be suitable for TikTok skating videos by morning.

We have plans to go live to downtown tomorrow, and we will keep you informed of them.

But for tonight, remember - it ain't over til it's over, and it could be a while before that happens.

Especially if what's lurking on the horizon comes to fruition.

Tonight's final update from here at RTHQ - we have received official word from our head prognosticator, Dean () that the trouble is only beginning.

As the snow changes to sleet, let's check in with our resident "going to eat us out of Pork Roll" meteorologist, Dean Davison ().

Roads are already getting ugly, and the hours ahead don't hold promise for a reprieve. Stay safe, stay home. Kids are off tomorrow, city offices are closed.

If you don't have to, don't go out.

Morning folks. The latest update from our in-house, won't keep out of the Pork Roll supply Meteorologist .

We have a term for storms like this up north, but it's remarkably impolite.

Make your last preps, radar indicates it will be in WV by 9am, and it's not long before it gets to us after that.

The real challenge with a storm like this is the air temp at 6000 feet, so if any of you happen to have a pole with a thermometer on it - let us know in the comments what you're seeing.
