After taking a little break…This wekend I made my way over to Devine, Tx for the South Texas Heat Cookoff

As always, it’s always a good time hanging out with friends and making new ones

Well well well. Once again it’s been a minute since the last cook

This past weekend Broke Boyz BBQ made the trip across the county to cook at the Papalote Volunteer Fire Department BBQ Cook-Off

Had a blast hanging out with the guys and meeting new people as always

When the smoke all settled I was able to walk away with

4th place 🐔- La Primera/ El Patron
15th place 🐷
13th place 🐮
9th place overall

Alrighty ladies and gentlemen…. It’s been a couple months and it was time to knock the dust off

This past weekend Broke Boys BBQ made the short drive to Kenedy, Tx for the 22nd Anual Kenedy Chamber of Commerce BBQ Cook-Off

Didn’t do as good as I’d hope for but that’s all ok. Winning is great, but to me it’s more fun to spend time with the people around you. It’s basically like having another family.

Friday night we fried up some fish and had the guys come over to hang out for a little bit.

Saturday morning fired up the drums and got to work

As for the results:
Chicken 🐔: 16th
Ribs 🐷: 10th
Brisket 🐮: 13th
Overall: 14th out of 23 other great teams

Made the trip over to Robstown this weekend for the 24th Anual Nueces County Jr. Livestock Show BBQ Cook-Off

It was great seeing everybody again after a 2 week break. Things got a little scary there for a while but managed to give up one ticket

Results:
Chicken 🐔: 20th
Ribs 🐷: 19th
Brisket 🐮: 1st 🎉
Overall: 6th place

This past weekend Broke Boyz BBQ made the short little drive over to The South Texas BBQ Emporiumin Beeville, Tx for the 2nd Anual Down South In December BBQ Cook-Off

This was the last cook-off for the 2025 season and we can’t complain about the results

Chicken 🐔- 27th…😬😬😬
Ribs 🐷- 5th place (My Pits Are Burnin’) Smokey pecan
Brisket 🐮-10th
Dessert 🍨-3rd
Overall- 10th

This weekend Broke Boyz BBQ made the short drive over to Mathis, Tx for the 2nd Anual Smoking for Scholars BBQ Cookoff

Couldn’t have asked for a better turn out…. Other then the rain threw the night. It never got over 70° during the day. It was nice and quiet being that nobody was running generators….. especially ours😬. IYKYK

Other that than that there was a total of 35 really competitive teams

As for results:

Chicken 🐔- 18th place 🤷🏽‍♂️
Ribs 🐷- 1st place 🥇
Brisket 🐄- 3rd place 🥉
Ribeye 🥩 - 7th place
Dessert 🧁- 2nd place
Overall 5th place

This past Weekend Broke Boyz BBq made the short drive over to Beeville, Tx to compete in The Grand 1st Anual Cook- Off
Although results didn’t end as good as we were hoping, at the end of the day, win or loose, it’s always fun to be there with friends of the bbq world.
When they say the BBQ world is like another family, they really mean “like family”
