The sun is shining ☀️😎 Spring took it’s time, but is finally showing up (now that it’s almost June)
In our Deli grab and go we’ve added some scrumptious smoky bbq entrees for you to enjoy. Smoked St. Louis Ribs with roasted Bbq hashbrowns. Smoked pork butt burnt ends and bbq potato bake (Awesome)
And today I added this delicious Toasted Sesame Shrimp Kabob with jumbo 13-15 shrimp, sweet bell peppers baked with toasted sesame seeds, and I made a yummy orange pineapple salsa with jalapeños and fresh cilantro for an accompanying sauce 😋😋

I've been promoting and selling and enjoying Faroe Island Salmon for about 15 years. When I was at Hegedorns, customers told me that they drove across town for this special catch.
Faroe Island is about 450 miles north of Scotland in the ice cold Atlantic Ocean. It is made up of coast to coast fjords. The cold Atlantic currents continuously flush out the fjords leaving pristine clear waters and cool steady sea temperatures. The fjords of Faroe Island are penned in to protect from natural predators, therefore the salmon has to be classified as farm raised. They have natural diet of herring and mackerel, microalgae and shrimp, augmenting their hearty rich flavor and high omega 3 fats. Healthy benefits include lowering stress, increasing blood flow and providing cancer fighting antioxidants.
And it's just plain delicious! My wife and I enjoy Faroe Island Salmon at least once a week. Bake, broil, grill, pan sear, sauté or smoke. It's our featured salmon and also $2.00 lb. off it's regular price. Bon Appétit.

Because of many requests, last Thursday I made a triple size batch of my Cioppino San Francisco, which I first created back in the early 90s, and it’s been a successful favorite every place I’ve worked. Well it sold out in 3 days, so Sunday, before I left the Deli at five, I made another triple batch. It will be our featured soup for the week. Enjoy 😋😋

Man….that was really good!😋 My wife and I eat fresh seafood at least twice a week. That’s because I bring in premium quality fresh catches to Herremas each week. Just arrived today….these fresh wild caught boneless skinless haddock fillets. I baked them with just a sprinkle of fresh cracked pepper and sea salt. (18 minutes) and made a sauce with olive oil, butter, fresh chopped garlic and parsley, capers and fresh lemon juice to spoon over the top. So good. Arrived fresh today too… the best salmon, fresh Faroe Island salmon fillets and fresh wild caught dry bay scallops (I’ve had these a couple times and they are delicious. And a better value than sea scallops are these days)

I’m thrilled to let you know that we’ve received one of my favorite fish to eat. A real delicacy. Fresh wild caught Nova Scotia Halibut fillets.
I love our Faroe Island salmon fillets, but if you’re not a fan of the flavor of salmon, these beautiful halibut fillets have a mild, slightly sweet, delicate flavor, kind of buttery, with a firm, meaty texture that pairs well with a variety of seasonings, sauces and cooking techniques. We had some for dinner tonight. I cast iron seared with salt and pepper and a Meyer lemon butter sauce. Absolutely amazing 😋 You must take the opportunity and enjoy this wonderful fish while it is available. Bon Apetit !!

I’ve added an amazing new specialty sandwich to our Deli grab and go case. New Orleans style Muffaletta Sandwich. It starts with a fresh soft thick fluffy delicious focaccia roll, with cappicola, Genoa salami, ham off the bone, sharp provolone and an olive tapenade I made with Greek olives, capers, garlic, rosemary, oregano And roasted peppers and onions. I finish it by pressing it on the panini grill 😋 Scrumptious. Enjoy.

Each week I make a specialty seafood soup/ bisque/ chowder of the week. This week it is my Cioppino San Francisco. I created this recipe back in the early 90s, and it’s been a winner everyplace that I’ve sold it. A zesty, kicked up seafood stew with fire roasted tomatoes, roasted peppers and onions, basil, fresh garlic, a good pinch of cayenne and “loaded” with shrimp, scallops, lobster, crabmeat and clams.

Look what I made today 🇮🇪🍀 It’s that time again. Where we all feel the luck of the Irish ☘️
I baked this and two others. My Shepherd’s Pie,
cooked seasoned ground beef with onions, carrots, peas, corn and crowned with the best mashed potatoes around. Will be available, portioned, in our grab and go case, Thursday through St. Patrick’s Day.

An absolutely delicious fresh catch arrived today at Herremas Seafood Department.
Fresh wild caught chef trimmed Swordfish Steaks. I bought a couple for dinner tonight and they were awesome. Mild sweet flavor, fork tender yummy 😋 Cast iron seared with salt and pepper with a lemon basil butter. With sautéed fresh spinach with sweet onion and garlic and homemade Spanish rice.
