🎉 BIG NEWS FOR THE NASH COUNTY FARMERS MARKET! 🎉
Today at 10am, the Nash County Farmers Market was honored to welcome Senator Lisa Stone Barnes, who presented the market with an incredible $308,000 investment in the future of the Nash County Farmers Market and community. This investment will be used for:
🛍️ Farmers Market General Store
A permanent store adjacent to the market that will allow the Market to expand beyond our traditional Saturday market and provide a weekday outlet for products from our local farmers, producers and bakers.
🍳 Commercial Kitchen
Completion of the commercial kitchen at the Market. The completed kitchen will create opportunities for cooking demonstrations, educational programs and food-related events.
🥕 $10,000 for Double Bucks
Funding to match EBT purchases, making fresh, locally grown food more accessible to low-income families in our community while supporting our local farmers.
🌱 Community Garden
A community garden, providing opportunities for the community to grow food, learn about gardening, and help provide fresh produce for the Market's donation station.
🏗️ $8,000 for Building 2 Repairs and Painting
Improvement and repairs to Building 2
We are incredibly grateful to Senator Lisa Stone Barnes for recognizing the importance of the Nash County Farmers Market and for advocating for this investment. We also want to thank everyone who has supported the market and helped us reach this exciting moment.
And, thank you to our farmers, vendors, customers, volunteers, and community partners. Without you, none of this would be possible.
Today was a great day at the Nash County Farmers Market—and we are just getting started! 🌱🥕🍅
