These are our friends Elise and Jeff and Oshala is a huge part of our close knit farming community. They have decided to rebuild after this devastating fire has wiped out a good portion of their farming operation and inventory and we want to contribute. Proceeds from Easy Valley produce sales at the Rogue Valley Growers market, tomorrow in Medford will be donated to the Oshala Farm rebuild fund. You can visit the Runnymede Farm booth to purchase our produce and or drop a donation in the jar for Oshala Farm. They have done so much for our community, we are honored to give back in their time of need. If you can’t make it to the market tomorrow, consider giving a few bucks to their go fund me page. ✌️& 💚

Hey Gang, Uber Herbal is selling these beautiful fresh garlands from marigolds that they grow here on Easy Valley Farm. They are wonderful for Halloween, Day of the Dead and a way to bring the summer sunshine into your home as the days get shorter and darker. They dry beautifully and last a long time! $25 each. Winters gifts from a summer solstice seeding, these beauties are heading to Ashland Market today! This is my first year growing them and after taking off all the ugly wilty leaves and seeing what was underneath, I almost started to cry but instead I annoyingly broke into song, making up lyrics about RADICCHIO! 😂

ESCAROLE!
What is it?
It's a leafy green in the chicory family that also includes Italian dandelion, endive and radicchio. It's the mildest of the bitter greens and sweetens with the colder temperatures.
What can I do with it?
The tender inner leaves can be added to your salad to boost the flavor and nutritional content. The outer leaves can be sautéed or braised as a side dish or more popularly added to stews and soups like Italian Wedding Soup and Escarole Bean soup.
What can it do for me?
Escarole is high in Vitamin A, K copper and Folate and a good source of insoluble fiber, a prebiotic that feeds your good gut microbes.
