A little good news today! SVF will have an amazing crop of Golden Delicious.🍏 This old time favorite handled the cold spring with excellence. Our Goldens are high on the mountain at 1500 feet on a historic site east of Romney. The streak continues of 50+ years with a successful apple crop at this location.

🍓Weekly Strawberry Update🍓

Strawberries are picking up in volume a little. We will have quarts available starting today, Tuesday May 12th. Flavor has been good.
Looking ahead👀 I think next week we will get into quantity discounts and flats. I see sunny weather, in the 80's.☀️🙌🏽

A little history “did you know?” about SVF! 👨‍🌾

Eli and Misty are first-generation farmers. Misty and Eli purchased their first farm together in 2003. The original farm was 52 acres and the two of them together did the majority of the work. 💪🏼 From planting, harvesting, and going to market, they did it all. 🍑 🍅 🥒

Spring Valley Farm & Orchard is accepting applications for weekend employment during the months of May-September at our CITY MARKETS.

Where: DC Metro area farmers markets

Job Description: Meet at the farm in Augusta to help load the trucks and travel to a market. Once at the market you will help unload the truck, set up the market, sell and/or stock produce then load the truck to come home. Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs, work in the heat, stand on your feet for long periods of time.

• Your day will start at approximately 3am and will return to the farm around 4-5pm but actual work time is only about 6 hours of your day.
• Saturdays and Sundays only
• $140-$165/day, varies by market location
• Age requirement: 16+ (15 with a work permit)
