All cows are cattle but not all cattle are cows! Cow, bull, steer, heifer...do you know the difference? If not...keep reading!

Cow = a female bovine who has given birth
Bull = a male bovine who is sexually mature
Steer = a male bovine who has been castrated
Heifer = a female bovine who has not yet had a calf

Have you ever heard of a fairy egg? Fairy eggs are eggs that are drastically smaller than the others and are often seen in young laying hens who are still trying to get the hang of making breakfast or older stressed hens! For this egg, it is a new layer as our current flock is pretty young! They are ok to eat too, this one was actually all YELLOW yolk, pretty cool.

Hello everyone! We are the friendly faces behind MTX Cattle!

Just a quick background on MTX. Kyle moved to Texas from Montana and after serving our country in the Air Force, he settled just outside of Waco. Kyle and Laura met because he left the gate open and his cows got out (he says she let them out 😉). Either way, that was the blend of Montana (MT) and Texas (TX) that not only created our beautiful family but MTX!

We hope to use this page to not only promote locally sourced beef but also let happy customers watch their beef grow!
